Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson to star in new Netflix series

Atkinson will play a detective in the eight-part series, Man vs Bee

Rowan Atkinson, the actor best known for playing Mr Bean, is to star in a new Netflix series. The eight-part series, called Man vs Bee, will see Atkinson play a detective who is called in to investigate a case of a man being terrorised by a bee.

Atkinson said he was "delighted" to be working on the series. "It's a great script and I'm looking forward to working with the team at Netflix," he said.

The series is written by Will Davies, who also wrote the Netflix series The Inbetweeners. It is directed by David Kerr, who has previously worked on the BBC series Sherlock.

Man vs Bee is due to be released on Netflix in 2023.
